Artist statement…
Driven by childhood memories and toy culture, I aim to communicate sculptural vignettes within a visual playground. Over the years I have explored a maximalist approach to sweet excess. Exploiting popular sweet treats as iconic subjects. A sculptural exploration of a literal and figurative sugar coated reality. The confectionary theme is a vessel to tell a story about indulgence, nostalgia, with an emphasis on keeping play alive.
